Triggering Zapier actions when data is updatedUpdated 10/12/2019

With Hull's Zapier Connector, you can combine Zapier workflow capabilities with Hull's stitched data on Users and Accounts. The connector is configurable from Zapier's interface. One way to use this connector is to trigger actions in Zapier based on events occurring in Hull.

How to trigger a Zap when data is updated in Hull

Once you have installed Hull's Zapier connector on your org, go to your account in Zapier and make a Zap!

First, select Hull as a trigger inside the Choose App & Event dropdown:

Then, select the trigger inside the dropdown listing the Trigger Events:

You can choose an event inside the following list:

  • a User entered a Segment
  • a User left a Segment
  • an Account entered a Segment
  • an Account left a Segment
  • a User Attribute was updated
  • an Account Attribute was updated
  • a User Event was created
  • a User was created
  • an Account was created

Then, sign in your Hull organization. You will be asked to fill-in the token that is in your Zapier connector settings under the Credentials section:

Once you have signed in successfully, you can then choose precisely the trigger from Hull. For example, if you chose User Entered a Segment as a trigger, you will be able to select a segment of your Hull organization. Screenshot 2019-12-06 at 16.59.40

Once you have selected the User Segment, you have finished setting-up your Hull trigger. Note that you will be able to use a sample User that we hard coded for you and who has all the attributes on the User and Account levels.

You can then go on and set-up the actions following that trigger you just defined.

For instance, you can add a new row inside a Google Sheet to chart some analytics or update a User inside your Customer Support tool to help CS better know their customers when they respond.
